Considering our near constant exposure to many (environmental, food-born, etc.) toxins and the importance of continuous detoxification to both physical and especially cognitive health, I decided to develop this dedicated page.
According to Dale Bredesen, MD from his book, The End of Alzheimer's..
"Detoxification may be the most difficult part of ReCODE, since there are so many toxins that can contribute to cognitive decline. Fortunately, there are many therapeutics available when it comes to detoxification, starting with food." Note ReCODE = Reversal of Cognitive Decline.
Dr. Bredesen goes on to explain how, "Certain foods enhance detoxification. They include cilantro, cruciferous vegetables (cauliflower, broccoli, various types of cabbage, kale, radishes, Brussels sprouts, turnips, watercress, kohlrabi, rutabaga, arugula, horseradish, maca, rapini, daikon, wasabi, and bok choy), avocados, artichokes, beets, dandelions, garlic, ginger, grapefruit, lemons, olive oil, and seaweed."
Well formulated nutraceutical supplements can be another effective way to address detoxification. Here are some of my favorites..
Entire books have been written on the important topic of detoxification. Soon to be continued starting with a reminder to stay well hydrated via plenty of clean water, which is vital as well for effective detox..
